I have no audio output on DVM8500
The DVM8500 supports audio that is encoded and multiplexed within the video Transport Stream file. For stereo playback via all audio outputs, the audio must be 16-bit 48kHz and encoded with AAC or MPEG1-L2 at a bitrate of 384kbps or less. When using Dolby Digital 5.1 encoding, the DVM8500 does not decode the audio but it passes it through as a "bitstream" via the HDMI cable and SPDIF digital audio outputs. An external Dolby decoder is necessary when using Dolby Digital 5.1.
Possible Causes: File has no stereo audio, file has Dolby 5.1 audio, audio in file is not 16-bit, 48kHz @ 384kbps or less
Solution: Check the audio settings for the file and re-encode it if necessary. Check so see if there is audio output from the RCA outputs using a pair of known working speakers. If using Dolby, make sure that your decoder is connected and working. Decoders will usually give a clear indication when they are receiving a Dolby Digital bitstream.
